Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Some questions about car audio.

who said sony amps? Sony is entirely JUNK

The equipment is only as good as the user. I can guarantee that if there was a hidden install competition between "high end" and "low end" there wouldn't be a difference between the two so long as the installation and speakers were the same as well as the source+head unit.

The job of an amplifier is to amplify sound without adding any "signatures" or cues to the music that weren't already present from the source.

There's a man offering $1 million to the person who can correctly identify "high end" vs "low end" in an a/b comparison. Nobody has won in about 10 years now. Sony is typically junk but so are the mentalities that use them. As long as an amp sends good clean power and doesn't blow up you're good to go.

D-double p-post. :th_nanana:

True though. :th_thumbsup-wink:

There is a huge difference between amps when it comes to reliability tho. Especially automotive amplifiers.

I still have a 1979 A/D/S/ amp :) the P-100. I had two, but one disappeared due to a family member which I do not want to talk about.

There most likely is also a difference in how well the built in crossovers work. as well as power supply quality.

Check out massive audio on Ebay. Word is that there's a 5 channel willing to go for ~$250? ;)

I picked up the CA50.4 for $250 as well. It's 1ohm stereo stable. With the sundown SAX-100.4 I can go active now!!

If you have an amp thats one ohm stable, and its not for subs, you NEED a line array to get that low.

I run my tweeters at 2 ohms per channel on a 4 ohm stable amp :)

when crossed over at 5 kHz or so, theres no real demand for power. :)
