• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Some new mods + a major detail, claybarred etc.

Well what a long hot and 92 degree day I picked to do this one, but it was worth it I beleive. I got the car a few months back and the paint was good but in less then pristine condition. There were swirl marks all over and throughout the paint and at night it looked absolutely horrible. So today I set about the major detailing it needed. I started out with a nice wash obviously and followed in the lower areas and bumper with bug and tar cleaner as the former owner must have ran through a major tar pit. Once I was done removing that amount of crap I proceeded to clay the rest of the car.

The next step was some stuff from a local auto body shop from the meguiars commercial line I suppose. It's called swirl remover 2.0 and comes in a tan bottle. That stuff works absolutely amazing I use it on everything, it took out all the hairline scratches and swirl marks. I then followed up with a polish and then the 2.0 tech wax. The car looks brand new now. So heres some pics, with the new tinted tail lights as well.

The before pic is mandatory:

I Might want to paint the pontiac lettering in the rear valance to match the car, any ideas on how. Im thinking of seeing how well I can free hand it.

look great man! i like the hint of tint on the tails. now, debadge and de-pinstripe the whole car. also whats up with the exhaust tips? they look a little recessed

i put new tips on mine a few weeks ago and bought a piece of exhaust pipe and was able to enxtend them out where they should be, looks alot better

i used intake clamps to bring them back up to where they should be, almost touchin the plastic. then slipped the SLP tips i have had forever on and now i love how my car's ass looks, tinted aftermarket tails and new tips in the same week = win

I cant find that vinyl inlay for the pontiac on the back on that site? However about the exhaust, yea I think the car was hit in the ass and it bent the exhaust and for whatever reason it was never replaced. Its not a horrible bend but enough that it sets the tips back in and off to the right a bit. Im not really into spending about 600 some for a new cat back either when this ones still alright.

you should drop your catback and try to bend it back or take it to and exhaust shop and see what they can do, should be under $600 ha
