• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Some more top swap questions! Yay!

I do have the stand and its 3 bolts the gp was a 97 hopefully its all the same. Arent the studs on the l36 the same or is it an extra stud? I know the lim bolts are the same but i didnt know if the uim bolts are the same. Im missing a couple of those as well

UIM bolts are indeed different. And the idler stand and 3 bolts will fit just fine.

leave gf in the car lol dont rush me!!!!!

maybe make a list of what you have already. then we can fill you in on whats missing.

Ok so for starters i have all new gaskets from the heads up also two bottles of sc oil. As far as hard parts go i have
Fuel rails
Sc
Tb ( all sensors, do not have bolts im pretty sure there the same as l36)
Injectors
Lim
Vc
Complete heads (minus the 1.9s im still trying to find)
Hb
Coil pack bracket
All sc belt idler and tensioner pulleys minus the tensioner bolt
New l67 map wiring with map ( still havent figured out which colors need to be spliced together)
Sd headers(still waiting on band clamps)
Front o2 extension harness
New rocker bolts
New head bolts

*gasps for air*
Ok i think thats everything i have.

So from what i know i will need:
Sc tensioner bolt
Possibly tensioner stud?
New oil and coolant
Sc belt
Sc bolts
Get the whole vaccum wiring set
Tuned pcm

Do you have the crank pulley puller? You can use a stud from the L36 coil bracket for the SC tensioner. Take a normal nut from your dog bones and grind the lip down (or the built in washer on the nut) a little it'll work fine for the SC tensioner.

I dont have the puller i figured i would be able to rent one at autozone or somewhere. I need my dog bone haha. Ill just get the bolt from the jy since i need to go back there anyway but thanks for the tip!

The parts store doest have anything like that even my local motor shop that did my machining on the block had to borrow one from the dealership. I ended up buying one online when I top swapped and went with the SFI crank pulley.

Whats the difference in crank pulleys besides a lot of money haha? Ill check around if i cant find one are you looking to sell yours?

you need three bolts M6 x 1.00 and 70-75mm in length.

and this style puller

The crank pulley reduces vibration it weighs more then stock, it helps when your reving higher over 6,000rpm and it allows you to use a 8 rib belt for when you use smaller pulleys and a 8 rib belt just looKS better in my opinion lol I'm not sure about the pulley puller I'll probably need it someday I'm always doing things to my car I'd probably let you borrow it if you can't get one.

Ya i dont plan on revving to high im not sure what would even be recomended for stock valvetrain minus 90# springs and 1.9s. It looks like zzp has a kit for 40$ does that work?

Nice well if its only 40 $ ill just buy the darn thing. Quick question though the hb i have i got for free and it doesnt look to be in to great of shape ( cracks in the rubber) i think amazon has new ones for about 65$. Should i just get a new one?
