• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Some more top swap questions! Yay!

yes that works. paint the lim too.

i dint have the sc to sit on top the lim, so i taped it off. but you can set them up and paint both. tape off the sides of the lim where you dont want paint.

What paint did you use? And do you have to prime everything beforehand? I want to do my S/C and throttle body silver, and then the fuel rail black.

see the wire wheel set there lol and brake cleaner. if stuff is real rusty wear a dust mask.

my block was a rust coated beast. first cleaned piston top lol

I'll just wire wheel the top of the S/C and throttle body. Fuel rail don't need to be cleaned up. Just painted right away.

Im assuming theres no prep when painting the sc and stuff besides cleaning. Like no scuffing are sanding balognie right?

So i drove to pick up my heads today and the guy didnt have them off the block yet and i didnt have enough time to wait any longer but he had two gtps and it was nice to meet a fellow enthusiast in Arizona! He also told me he would sell me the whole motor for 100$ but i dont know if it worth it since he spun a bearing

Hey guys so im sure there is a thread or a how to for top swapping but i cant find it, i can only find the one with the parts list. What do i do with the balancer shaft when i topswap?

Ok ya i saw a thread of a guy talking about the balancer having to come off and how it wouldnt be that hard to do a cam and timing chain at that time. I thought he was talking about the balancer shaft but now i re read it and assume bhe was just talking about the hb

if you do a top swap, the harmonic balancer has to come off and get replaced with a supercharger version, otherwise there is no way for the supercharger to have a belt that will turn it. once you have the harmonic balancer off, it isn't a lot more work to take the timing cover off and change the cam.

If it's a complete l67, grab it, all the parts you need for a top swap will be fine, them you have all the pullies, bolts, etc...then scrape the block for 20bucks

Well its complete except the pulleys are already off it and the supercharger, tb, and all that stuff up top is off but i already have a sc. Basically it has everything lim and down including coil pack bracket with coil packs
