It all depends on how ethical you are, I would take the warranty as it is and fix what is really broken. Then you can learn how to repair your car with what comes later I have cars that have over 200,000 miles and the CV joints are still going strong. The real good SEA mechanics will be able to see through your ploy then charge you to replace the one you made look bad. You will be out 500 bucks for something that was not really broke, your call.

A thing called Karma comes into play.. Don't fix what's not broken plus cx axles are easy as hell and cheap as hell to replace on your own if needed. I wouldn't just go break or tamper with something just so the warranty will hopefully pay for it... What if you cut the boot.. Then warranty declines the claim... You'll be pissed when you have to pay out of pocket...

This is the modern equivalent of unhooking your speedometer cable to stay in new car warranty. The "gateway crime" to things like tax evasion and such, which define your character. You're either honest or you're not.

The warranty basically states that the car will last "free of manufacturing defects" until XXX miles or years, whichever occurs first. If it breaks after the warranty expires, well, that's kind of the point. After the warranty is up, the "service life" of the vehicle has been reached. Any use out of it after that is "free," or the cost of maintenance and upkeep.
If the part isn't broken now, great! It isn't supposed to be.
