(SOLVED) Car Wont Start

So I wanted to clean the throttle body a little bit so I took the air filter off an everything to get to the throttle body, then a neighbor came over to tell me I had to move out from the grass, so not thinking anything of it, I tried starting the car an it started but died. Then I hooked everything back up and now it still wont start. What could I possibly of messed up for the car to not start?

I never needed to disconnect it, I mean it was just a simple take the air filter an tube out an spray the screen a little bit.

Re: Car Wont Start

depending on what you sprayed in the TB maybe you killed the maf. un plug it then try to crank it over.

Re: Car Wont Start

Trying to unplug seems impossible because its likes its stuck and I feel like im gonna really mess things up. Is it suppose to be a little rough to unplug?

Re: Car Wont Start

Well all i really did was let it sit for about half an hour and after a friend showed up. She started right up. The problem was just too much air from trying to start it with everything that was taken off. I wasnt thinking right an was too busy thinking about getting out of the grass. Shes good now. Thanks as always GPF. :)

having the air filter off should in no way keep it from running. a open cone air filter is almost like having no filter, and lots of us run them with no issues.

Then i cant really think of why it didnt wanna start but after sitting for a bit, it started it. I mean i did what you said with the maf sensor, then plugged it in and let the car sit for awhile then after all that, it started with no hesitation.

I really need to learn some mechanics, i feel like such a dumb ass every time i get on this forum.

Yeah but i never got around to spray anything because the guy had already came by an said i had to move, there was no liquid near that maf sensor.

well thats just real odd.

theres really no such thing as to much air. assuming you got a 97-03 with the maf in the TB.

04 + has the maf in the air filter tube, it may fight to fire up if its not hooked up in a 04+.
