On a sqeaky dash. Ive had it appart like 4 times trying to figure out what color I wanted my cluster and well now... It also hates me. I have a GS but its a cross bettween a sqeak and a rattle. Im just lookin for tips you guys have used on wbodys or any car in general

im getting a rattle also, sounds like stuff in the glove box rattling around.

i think i found mine tho, i broke where the console meets the center trim, and found it not sitting on top of the console, so i just realigned my chit today, i need some bumps to prove that was it tho.

lol already have hearing damage in my left ear from 2 w6's I used to pound. It never did it untill I tok it off a bunch. Im thinkin a lil vaseline on any contacts spots for the stuffs I took off and Ill be good. I shoved one of my daughters socks inbetween one spot and it helped lol. Colder weather always brings the creaks out tho

AS the plastic in these cars age, and any time an interior parts have to be disassembled bring the chance for more creeks and plastic rattles because the clips and securing hole wear just enuff for a little movement and then it starts rattling and squeking, my 2000 blazer was a RATTLE TRAP from hell, most horrible plastic in the back of those things. Funny thing is my 86 Monte SS, 86 Regal, 68 Nova ,76 Electra never had a single rattle inside.

i fixed my rattle, it was the console to the center dash trim.

Mines just a crappy lite sqeak just enough to piss me ff becuase I know its my fault for takin the dash apart so much figuring out my cluster. Oh well as of last night I have to bump that down and put finding what pulley is going out first. I hate cars when it gets cold thats when you find out what sucks on our cars.

your talking about the trim that goes aross the whole dash? maybe you could spread the clips open to tighten them up.

i had to spread the side panel clips, the fuse cover kept falling off.

Yea thats what Im actually gonna try thanks any tips are great tho. Im gonna do that when I can get it in a heated garage tho so the plastic is less brittle. Slap sum vaseline on all contact point and get some foam to put in certain spots.

that sounds like a plan.

i had my trim off a bunch of times too, they come off easier and easier the more times it comes off.

i had cluster problems too, in and out 3 or 4 times.

It does come off easier every time. I noticed that the same time I noticed the sqeaks. My cluster was only taken out once or twice because of actual issue the other 2 or 3 times were swapping bulbs. The last time it was dark and late so I wasnt freindly
