• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

so frustrated with this car

Swap the #1 and #3 injector on the fuel rail and see if the problem follows the injector to cylinder #1.

^^^^^^^^ Could try that or swapping coils to see if the miss fire changes cylinder number too.
I have never in my life seen fuel injector cleaner do a thing as far as having a misfire light on waste IMO.
Miracle in a bottles are 90% the time a joke.

wouldnt a clogged cat problem get worse under load as the cars trying to get rid off more exhaust rather than idleing nope doesnt seem like an exhaust problem to me either.

Missfire still makes me believe its in the ignition system..............

were the spark plugs and plug wires replaced as an attempt to fix your #3 misfire or did the misfire occur after installation of the new parts? Exactdy what was missing from the spark plug? Was it the end that goes into the spark plug wire boot or the end that goes into the engine?

She said it smelled funny, which is why I asked about the cat.

Dude im not trying to argue with you so chillax,

If your actually driving its producing more exhaust than at idle and it was already stated that the car runs worse at idle so problems at a lower rpm rather than actually driving the car would make me highly doubt its anything to do with the exhaust.

btw a bad cat would likely cause RANDOM misfire across all the cylinders rather than just one trust me ive had a 02 with a bad cat and it was throwing egr codes too and it was getting super hot.

An electrode missing from a spark plug makes me worry...hope you didn't toast a valve, or worse.
You may need to take that car to a professional.

toast a valve or something geezus christ people dont you read the thread !? it runs fine except at idle!
Cmon this cant be that hard I still say its ICM or at the very least ignition system related its throwing a misfire code lol why would the code lie to you!

A bad ICM CAN screw up one cylinder!

here is an idea grab the socket and ratchet to pull the 3 coils off in the oreillys parking lot unplug the icm walk inside and have it tested for free and go from there.............

I know they test them and I just called them to double check and make sure I wasnt loosing my mind either!

oh bring some money too if it is an ICM they are like 120 bucks IIRC.
