I just recived my used stage 2 ic today in the mail i opened it up and all the parts where there.

woo hoo.

But wait im looking at this thing and there is a huge gap on the side of the core
I put a piece of paper through so you can see where the gap is

But wait there is more the top of the core where it meets the sc by the bypass channel is like bent

so i decide to test fit it with my spare sc

yup a pretty big gap that cant be good looks like im probably not goin ic this weeked.

Well just wondering how bad i got screwed this cant be right can it?

I paid with paypal so i might be able to do somthing about this just want some input on what i should do looks to me like prev owner tried to re core it and bent it and the core didnt fit right. fml
 


So i took the core out and its cracked

The actualy plate for the ic is bent were the lip holds the heater core. Its more noticeable on the right.

This looks fixable would i just be able to get a newer style core and get that bent piece flattened back out.
I paid 425 for it with a gm pump and a ported lim think its worth the extra money to get it fixed and does it look possible to fix it?
 
i personally, would hunt that prick who sold it to you down and beat him unmercifully, like as in they would need his dental records to ID his asshole likeness.

frigging people need to learn not to scam others just because its a internet sale and they think they are safe.

i must say tho, 450 ain't worth that phone call if you know what i mean.....
 


every thing looks to be chitty, Id ask for my money back. Just IMO. Its easy to port the LIM. might take you 15 min
 
lol Im pissed to i wanted to bolt this thing on this weekend.

Unfortunately i live in fl and he lives in ny and that is a long way to go would probably cost me another 450 or so also its cold up there and im used to the warm weather.

Im trying to just send this thing back or at least get some of my money back to help get it operational.
 
I had one of those W body store IC's and loved it. Have you put water in the core to see if it leaks or if that's just a line from where it was made?

On the bend.. I'd try and have that fixed/flattened. don't worry about that gap at all. Won't effect performance. If you want though..rough up the sized a little and fill it with RTV once the core is back in. Honestly though..I wouldn't.

that is one of the better intercooler cores out there. if you can get it to seal right then it'll work like a dream
 


Hey whats up local guy I thought I was the only one in cape I haven't seen you at the local hangouts ever should come out some time.

Dam it Bio i was all convinced that I got screwed i guess ill take it to the machine shop and see how much they want to fix it.

Also the core leaks bad i plugged it and blew through it and air came out so i took it out of the plate and that crack i circled leaked water bad when i filled the core.

Paypal won't do anything for him on this. Paypal does not warrant the condition of items purchased. I found that out the expensive way when I bought a gen v that was junk when I got it. To paraphrase their response, "awwww, that's too bad. So sorry, now piss off."

i thought that they cover purchases on forums now. a few cawk holes over on ls1tech like to screw ppl over and and if the seller doesnt help remedy the situation and you have literally exhaust all other means of contacting the person to get your money back then they step in, or should. thats why there is a lil selection when sending money called, "item purchased"
 
Suppose i should update you guys on this i contacted the seller and he has sent me a refund.

I shipped the ic back to him and used the money to buy new struts and lca's for my lowering springs.

He said he didn't mock the ic up or notice that it was damaged but i find it kinda hard to belive.

ssie i been looking at your kits i think im going to go cam first now that im lowering it, how is your core for hood clearance its shorter than a metal s2 ic from isnt it
