Snout shaft splines damaged

Was going to swap my pulley and noticed the bolt was missing and the threads for it are completely crushed in. If I get the pulley off would I have to drill n tap the snout for the tool or is there another way? Anyone had any success with this?

I've seen one or two guys beat a pulley on. It wasn't pretty though and I wouldn't suggest it. Find someone like me with a good charger that they'll sell you cheap.

Lol I actually did use a hydraulic press so far so good! Between this car and my mustang swap I feel like. I should buy stock in a belt company

I'm with you on that one! I'm pretty sure I've bought 15-20 belts over the last 7 years... Between oil leaks, a FUBAR balancer, and a couple of seized idler/tensioner pulleys here and there, I'm pretty sure I've perpetuated my stock in the Gates Corporation.

For the OP: If you don't plan on taking the snout off to use a hydro press, re-tapping the threads seems like the only other way to do it.
