• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

yep youre right.. i am leaking coolant yet the coolant level is fine.
the smoke smells like oil burning and my oil level is dropping..
so it couldnt be an oil issue...right?

Hey, you are the one that came here asking questions. If you already know all the answers, then by all means, see yourself out. No need for any of us to help you with an attitude like that.

no attitude..

Let me reword my question...
What would cause a motor to burn Oil at an idle?(rev it a few times it quits)
It also puffs a small cloud when first started, clears out.. Let it idle very long though it starts to smoke

valve seals or oil getting past the rings

I would think rings would keep smoking(meaning at high rpm)hence rev
I know it is oil smoke.
just want to know if this could be $20 vavle seals or if its time for a new bottom end?

I had come across the same issue recently. Some smoke at idle sometimes. We thought it could have been anything but valve seals as they were replaced less than a year ago. Well pulled both covers off and found seal on exhaust valve was no longer seated Wouldnt hurt to pull covers and inspect

So the gaskets on my Cylinder Heads are probably shoot then. You have to replace the bolts too. don't you? Does anyone have the bolt sequence?
