Smell gas/fuel on rear driver above tire

Hey all, new member with new problems.

I searched the net and didnt really find any solutions of sufficient solutions. Has anyone ever has the same issue? Not sure if the Evap canister, the solenoid, or a hose in the rear is bad, or if its an engine compartment issue. The title says all. I went to get a little exhaust work done and while on the lift a strong gas odor was present. It is centralized in the exact area. And like most people, I would rather fix it right the first time and save money.
