i could ask one of my buddies to borrow his garage tho, unfortunelty he has no tools either so id invest in some

You need a basic tool set to do a top swap.

And probably a big breaker bar for the balancer.

That's about it.
 
You can could do just about everything with these cars with a simple socket set and a jack lol. I've never bothered investing in air tools because of that.

Just giving you some info so you don't get intimidated when it comes to these cars


Edit: Yes cannot forget the breaker bar like Blue said it'll come in handy more often then you think.

hmm yea i gotcha thanks for headsup haha, only engine work i did with this car was HV3 and that was fairly easy
 
Then your on the right path lol. Hardest thing is probably going to be getting the heads off and that's pretty simple if you have a breaker bar.

dont you need headers with topswap so no kr(high compression n/a motor)? either way youll want more and more mods. in the end you could just save for the turbo and be as fast as the topswap with all the mods.
then you can blow your tranny up woot woot!

Headers are like $220 so would be smart to have some of those as well. Unless your find a smoking deal on a complete turbo kit or have fabrication skills. Top swap should be significantly cheaper and more friendly on his tranny. Of course it's a chance it'll still break everyone of us worry about that. Its all about what deals you can find.

ya but depends on what kind of power he wants in the end, topswap with all mods costs the same as a turbo kit and is just as fast as a turbo kit with no mods.

Yea all depends on his power goals. A reliable DD w/ a bit of power = Top swap. All out nasty car = turbo.

i just want my N/A with a bit of kick so my headers/intake/hv3/overkill would be pretty nice for now, if i want a nasty car ill sell this and go GTO haha

only other mods you can do n/a is rockers or cam, and a bigger throttle body,tb would help very lil so I hear.

if u mean TB spacer then thats a no go for me, not worth it haha

EDIT: i was considering rockers/cam as well but i figured if i do that i mine as well do topswap and save the money haha
