SLP CAI vs K&N FILTER

JB381

Is there a noticeable pick up with a SLP CAI? I am currently using a K&N Filter replacement which did seem to help over a stock filter. I am using the original stock air box. Also, is it possible to modify a stock box to accept a cone filter?:th_mechanic:

I don't know how much the SLP CAI costs, but I say just build your own FWI. It's a lot cheaper than aftermarket intakes and it's equally effective. There's a few write up's on how to build one and you would just put a cone on the end in place of the box with PVC as your piping.

As for power, when I added the FWI my shift points where raised a bit and the car got a lot louder on the engine side. I felt a little bit of a gain from it and love it way more than the stock air box.

I can't tell you about the difference between stock airbox to the SLP CAI. However I can let you know about going from an SLP CAI to a Thrasher CAI. When I purchaced my GTP it already had a SLP CAI and a 3.4" pulley. I bought a Thrasher CAI because I liked the way it looked and I was plesently suprised with a power increase and more of that sweet sweet blower whine.

blower whine FTMFW i bought a wizaird back in my younger, less educated days, instead of making one but besides the money i lost i love the look over stock, the power gain was definatley noticable, and oh my g** that blower whine is incredible
