slammed finally

Can you explain cutting the bump stops?

I had Eibach kit before and KYb struts but the ride sucked.

now I have SSC springs and its still not the greatest... looking for more help.

My buddy claims to have had Eibach and it rode mint.

i allredy have the ebachs but some places tell me its a inch drop others ive read say 1'3 so idk were it woud sit at

the eibach is close to a 2.5" drop. the specs given for drop springs are all wrong, every single one.

the bump stops are in the upper part of the strut area, and unless you trim them to be not as thick then the strut bottoms out on the bump stops when youre lowered a bunch. i had eibachs and my bump stops i dont think were cut and my car would "bottom out" on them over big, sudden bumps and it was horrible. other than that they rode well (i also had GR2s) for how low the car was.

SSC springs i swear have a higher spring rate and will ride more harsh than other springs for how much they lower. i was never a fan of them as my car looked and rode better than a friends who had SSC.

thanks for the reply.

ssc the blue springs right?

or maybe i have the springtechs

so should i look into cutting my bumpstops? do i have to remove the strut/spring or can i get at them on the car

edit: i think they are springtech

springtech are cheap springs, but they work.

im not sure about cuttin the bump stops in the car as i have never done it.

hmmm.. really? cheap.

I don't know the history on these, maybe I should get a new set of something..

:th_scratchhead:

if i wanted a set of springs that lowered enough to look cool and still ride nice i would get B&G. they are similar to eibach as far as drop. if i was looking for a subtle drop i would get vogtland. if i was looking for a steep drop i would get intrax.

if i get another w-body ill be rocking intrax, 20s, and a big non-intercooled cam setup on ported manifolds. torque monster.

Silly question. Did you have anti-pogo washers?

for eibachs cut the front bump stop 23mm on the smaller side (bottom) for the fronts and dont touch the rears.....you can use a knife to cut it its just a rubber compound....it does help alot i still bottom out on huge bumps but not so often for how low i am....def cut the fronts if you dont wanna bite your tongue on semi big bumps...

I run intrax with gmpp struts and I love the ride, It is a bit on the rough side and my girlfriend compares it to driving a skateboard but I wouldn't have it any other way,
