Six Speed Manual in a Grand Prix!

I am very impressed with this. Not many people would tear apart their car to try something of this magnitude. Kudos dude.

Thanks guys for your positive response. What I think is even cooler, is that my right hand man through this whole project is only 16! Together we stayed up till midnight, got up at 6, and did a lot of bouncing ideas off each other. I see an engineer in the making.
BTW I am 20.

Nice work. As for the axles just get some used OEM ones from Morad. They're stronger and way cheaper than any autoparts store replacement ones.

Won't work. The one that keeps breaking has to be custom modified and that's what is causing the breakage.
I'm not to surprised to see that a weld, won't hold. I'm sure there are people, who can make one for yu. Keep us posted.:th_thumbsup-wink:

RCV Performance out of Loves Park IL. is making one for me. I don't know when it will be done.

I just heard back from RCV Performance, and they will be shipping the axle out tomorrow. I will hopefully be back on the road by the weekend.

:th_clapping: :burnrubber0: awesome awesome awesome...im sure youll get the axle prob straightened out,u have come to far not to. :th_thumbsup-wink:

Someday... I shall follow in your footsteps... someday haha, that cars gotta be a blast to drive.

I always though GM needed to bring back a manual Grand Prix, but now with the G8 I doubt that will ever happen...

I got my axle, and they cut the splines a little too small, so there is a little play. I'm not sure what I will do. I'm ready to throw in the towel. Anyone wanna give me 7k for it?

Send it back an get it fixed. You should't give up now when you've come this far.

It is on its way back right now. They will fix it for me. Just a little discouraging because it is supposed to snow Sunday and Monday, and I was hoping to have my car done by then. It won't be cool riding my bike to school in the snow.

This is amazing to see someone do, especially with their own car. I can understand your frustration, don't give up now tho. You are one of the great pioneers for the GP. Good luck to you and I can't wait to hear that it is completed!! :th_thumbsup-wink:

this is fantastic! but you cannot give it up now all that work and your ready to say screw it!? ive been there many times with many projects and a few of them i gave up on and still i think what might have been had i completed them... hang in there, you'll get it with custom stuff all you need is time and whole lotta money lol

good luck to you sir

wow just wow so much thought in doing something you would thing would be so easy in the begining hope the new axle works and you get to have some fun

i wanna do the same to my car exactly the same itll make it more fun to do burnouts woot woot. congrats on the swap

Amazing! I'm backed up with body work to do, but it's looking like my trans is about to go at around 130k, so I may start investing in parts for this swap, especially while I still have a 2nd car to drive around
