As you may have noticed by now, we now have a feature that will allow you to donate to GPF.net.
Our first goals for the donation system is to make sure we have the funds to pay for the site itself. We all benefit from the community here and like most things in life, it costs money to keep it running. As membership grows there are more demands on the server and more bandwidth is used all of which has to be paid for.
Secondly we would like to get donations for the Branson Grand Prix Meet and to continue that great event. I dont know if you all know it, but Chris (Webracin) forks out his own money on this event for things like trophies, T-shirts and so on, and then tries to stir up enough interest in the event so that that money is made back. It is not easy. All the money from the raffles goes to Victory Junction Gang, none of those funds are used to cover any losses anywhere.
We would very much like to see the funding for that event a bit more stabilized and to also have the funds to possibly do more there. The event is non-profit so anything received over and above what it costs to put on the event plus the money from the raffles all goes to the Victory Junction Gang. So even if you cannot attend you can ensure it is a successful event and successful for Victory Junction Gang.
Right now, one of the perks you get from donating is a increase in your PM box capacity. There is also the fact that you give back to a community that is here for you. As well, its possible that as donations are made we can purchase mods and such for the forum software to add enhancements and other goodies.
