• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Simple Intake (pictures)

technically you dont even need to do this. it will read the temperature no matter where it is. i just zip tied mine close to the cone and left it.

Haha you can really just ghetto rig it like that? I want to make it a little more legit lol

then drill a hole in the same spot as the hole in the stock intake, legit

or extend the wires and put it in the backside of the tube so you cant see it...and its still legit

Ah hell why not.

This is a horrible waste of money, looks better then the stock box. However I highly doubt any S.Y.P. type gain can be obtained. Yes its less restrictive, but now will just pull in gulps of extremely hot engine bay air. Has anybody not noticed most legit set ups are as far away from the bay as possible, in fact most pull from the wheel well if possible….Even cars in stock trim know better than to pull hot engine heat into the engine. And you’re not going to get any hotter air then from the engine bay. (the goal is to be as far away form the heat source as possible....this intake brings you closer)

This intake is simply retarded.

Colder air= higher density air=more power.

HOT AIR+LOTS OF IT=fail

Suck as much hot air as your want, The engine itself will only pull in X amount anyway, all you’ve done here is just scene to it the engine is less restrcicted on getting tons of hot worthless air.

at the very best this inatke is offsetting

edit:
I'm not saying that this is the end all argument but I don't think that CAIs are as big a deal as everyone may say.

Dude.. does it look like I care what you think? If you don't like the intake I made, that's your problem.. I'm not forcing you to make one.. And I couldn't care less about your facts.. keep them to yourself.

Calm down, he has a GP GT... its already enough of a dog so he wouldnt want the hot air to make it even slower.

M90'd 3800's are another story.

yeah, we have another thread about fenderwell vs. open cone. basically, we all know colder air is better. an open cone makes it louder and gets rid of the stock tubing. if you wanna get technical, the gains seen with a fwi aren't all that spectacular anyways. if somebody's trying to build a legit setup, they're going intercooled. chill out a little bit

ONCE AGAIN...

cold air=more restrictive, less gas milage, more power
short ram=better flow, better gas milage, not as much power

so whats better, flow? or cold air?
its been proven greater flow means more for performance than colder air, especially on a boosted car where the goal is to get the air in and out of the engine as fast as possible (open cone and headers)

whoa whoa whoa.... Your IAT sensor isn't all the way in and isn't sealed with anything...

Just drill a hole in the coupler and do that.

On my 01 GTP I noticed an increase in MPG, maybe about 1-1.5 mpg increase. I noticed louder blower whine from the supercharger, and a slightly more responsive throttle.

Just did this mod. 50 bucks(40 for filter + 10 for conduit and rubber piece). took like 30 minutes to install! old filter popped out real easy on my 2001 GTP. I really like the new sound of the whine and sucking noise. First mod completed... i think im addicted. great HOW TO :th_thumb-up:
