silicon instead of gasket

Wow, im curious why you would even recommend that stuff, if you do decide to use it though, be warned, you wont be able to get your parts back apart. It is a good sealer for maybe a critical area that you cant find a replacement gasket. I know oem doesnt recommend sealer, but everyone uses it. Im curious as to this "experience" you have either. As far as being professional about it, I guess ill have to be the better person here and just let this one slide...
 


I recommend it because it seals very well and is durable. I never said RTV was bad and not to use it. You were the one that pointed out what I use is wrong as is not according to oem manufacturing standards. When in reality you were misinformed and weren't speaking factual.

I might have to make a video and show you how easy it is to remove/break the seal from the cured right stuff gasket maker. My experience is from changing A LOT of 3800 oil pan gaskets and 1 of them never comming back from a leak.

RTV is by no means a bad sealant, I just have my preference.

There's nothing to let slide, you can act like a bigger person, but that statement screams imaturity
 
I have in fact used this product, on my valve covers, worst mistake I could have made. Basically ruined my valve covers it destroyed them so bad.

Of course I wouldn't recommend using this stuff on valve covers. Thats because the valve covers are made out of PLASTIC. Hell I don't use any sealant on valve covers, unless the valve cover gasket groove is chipped. If its chipped, I'll use black RTV which saves them from purchasing another valve cover.
 
They are actually fiberglass, but im not gonna get into that one. I used it b/c i didnt have $50 for gaskets at the time.

The obx headers are good, you need to modify them though if you buy them, nothing a welder cant fix. Other than that, I like them, $350 for them and you have the exact stainless headers as everyone else has. Ill be pulling mine off and selling them soon as im going turbo.

You'd be correct in that they are a composite material. Yeah I knew that the crossover has to be rotated, but that should be pretty easy to deal with. I've been looking forward to using the miller mutliprocess unit.
 
Crossover needs to be rotated, all the joints need welded, the front flange, they used identical flanges, so the front has an egr provision sticking off, it will hit the lower rad. hose if you leave it, needs hacked off, and on the rear, the egr hole needs enlarged to 5/8".

That is all the modifications. the slip joints fit kinda sloppy, but i guess it doesnt really matter since you would be welding.
