Hello I have a 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix 3.8 base model. I can start my car and drive about 5 miles, when I come to a stand still my car shuts off. If I put it in park and crank it back up it starts back up. If I wait 30 seconds to a minute it just spins and will not start. I can wait about 20 minutes and then it will start up. I need some help if anyone has had a similar problem like mine.
 


that could be the crank sensor failing. they never set a code, stall randomly start back up early on, then as it fails more it wont fire up for 30 minutes or a day, or days. the tach will also drop out moments before it stalls out. thats hard to catch some times tho.
 
as Scotty mentioned, it could be crank sensor. on my '08 it was the ICM under the coil packs. although when my ICM started failing it would stall randomly.
