• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Should I upgrade my car?

Keep your GT, keep reading up and learning about the car/platform, do some minor modding to get used to working on it and where things are at, then later on you can either L67 swap, top swap, turbo, etc. Or pick up another one off craigslist for $1k that needs work, and make it a project, that's what I recommend, always have a vehicle at 100% so you can get to work, parts store, junkyard, whatever to work on the other one.

Either way, don't pay $10k for something so similar to what you already have. Once you learn how to work on the cars, you'll be kicking yourself when you realize how easy/cheap it would've been to just s/c your GT.

I had my '99 GT running 15.0-15.1's @ 90 consistently, with pretty minimal mods (intake, 3" dp, ud wp/alt pullies, and a tune) enough to keep up with a stock GTP. Enjoy not having to be concerned with KR for a while. You can get used to launching the car, too. It'll help having some practice before adding on another 200+ lb-ft of torque.
