Should I buy 6000k or 8000k hids?

I'm not sure because I like the blue tint but want to avoid trouble with the cops.

What are the steps taken to keep from blinding people?

Thanks, J.

Those are my lows. However when I turn my brights on the fogs turn off and its a reg white light. Not so much a headlight, as its not as bright, but a reg light.

anything past 6000K is useless for light output, but you also have to take all of the rating systems with a grain of salt because unless youre buying 100% LEGIT HIDs, then the color rating is just a guess. for instance, one cheap brands 10,000K could look like another cheap brands 6000K. either way, don't go higher than 6000K.

Idk.....I like my useless 10k's. Lol I've had 8's and 6's and I can def tell the diff. Not as blue/not as bright. Everyones got diff opinions and not everyone likes the same thing.

the higher you go on the kelvin scale the worse light output you'll get.

think for a second, then pick 6000K like everyone who is smart is saying. or you could outdo that and just get 4300K (pure white) and see like the sun.

I wanted blue ones and i got 8000k. light output on any HID is probably better than stock soo I wouldnt worry about that. With my headlight covers on I see as well as I did stock. If you want noticeably blue, but like aqua, 8000k from DDM is your choice.

Well it seems as if im a lil uneducated on hids, thanx for correcting me! I was under the assumption that the higher you go the brighter/" more blue" the light is.? (I was obviously mis informed) Mine are a nice blue color and very bright. So a lower set would be better....how? Educate me please.

White is brighter than blue.

4300k is pure white. 6000k starts turning blue and you lose overall light output. 8000k is even worse.

I favor the color more than light output don't don't want any trouble with the cops. Bio makes a good point when he says different brand hid's color will be different.

Should I worry about blinding other drivers and how would I prevent that? Maybe the only good option is getting spyder headlights?

Also, how do 35w hid compare to 55w? More light output with 55w?
