Short stack intercooler

Thinking about next year's upgrade and looking at a ZZP short stack intercooler. The price seems decent and it seems like a logical step for my 2002 GTP. It has SD headers, ZZP canned tune, 3.5" pulley, and K&N filter in standard airbox (for now).

put your own kit together using a phenolic intercooler from sseilmnop. it is a little more work to get all the items needed, but will outperform any intercooler kit that zzp can assemble. the basic items in the kit are the intercooler core, which is the item that goes under the supercharger, a pump to pump the fluid, many people use a bosch, a heat exchanger that will go in front of the radiator, and heater core hose. you will also need different fuel rails, and if you plan on dropping pulleys smaller than a 3.1, you will probably need bigger injectors.

edit: just a tip to dissuade you from the short stack, the install is the same amount of work, but you get like half the performance.

Short stack isn't worth it.

Go full size or convert to E85 if you can. It'll usually beat out the intercooler based on no extra BS you have to deal with.

Well, I was thinking in terms of protecting my 130k engine more than the performance gain, although 30 extra ponies is nice too.

theres a bit more involved with a ic install then just putting it on the engine, bumper cover has to come off. need to figure out mounting of fmhe and the pump, hood latch mod and you you need some kind of fuel rail either a zzp modded rail, fuel logs, or make your own.

and then with a 3.2 pulley you'll likely be running out of injectors, so some 42's are needed, another tune of course for the injectors. this is where owning a tuner comes in handy.

You'd have more protection from a solid IN CAR tune (not dyno bullsh1t), full exhaust, tune-ups/gasket updates (if you haven't done it yet), and no intercooler. All that is...is a vac leak waiting to happen. And 30HP~ is only when it's dialed in with the correct pulley size. I'm betting it's much more with that and the right pulley.
