Shifting 1,2,3 before 20 mph!!

Help, I just had my tranny rebuilt all new parts and I'm taking it back to them on Wed but would like to know ahead of time what the problem could be?
I just installed everything...Motor and tranny car sounds great by the way love my xp hot cam :)
But upon first drive I noticed that the car wanted to shift into OD to soon...thought nothing of it...drove about 75 miles non stop on the highway...as i pulled into my neighborhood I took my turn at about 10mph and before I was at 20mph my car was in third gear and the only way to get it to shift was to give it over half throttle? It does this everytime now and not sure what the problem is? Also when driving highway speeds and letting off the accelerator the tranny makes a whinning/grinding noise and when I put it in neutral it goes away but if I put it back in drive the whining gets louder at first then back to the normal whine sound?? Please any help would be appreciated!:(

Sounds like the PCM's programmed gear ratio is way off from what the trans's actual gear ratio is. But that's just a guess at this point.

When you got your new transmission did you have different gears installed? Like 3.29's? If so then you might have to download a GT gear ratio table into your PCM. If not then still check your tables to see if you did something wrong...maybe you hit a button or something that you didn't mean to...never hurts to double/triple check ;)

Didn't change gears...I have a ZZP pcm and he even offered to send me a new one free to prove it wasn't in the programming...it really can't have anything to do with the computer even tho these are computer controlled trannys...only reason I say that is because of the whining noise that I hear??

Are you sure it is going into 3rd gear or is it locking up in 2nd? If you have a problem with the pcm/gear ratio, though I know you said it was still stock, it will throw a code for incorrect gear ratio and lockup will do a lot of weird stuff! Also if the converter is bad or there is a valve body problem it can cause the trans to lockup as soon as it goes into 2nd and will drive terrible. You need to have the car driven with a scan tool to check for codes and also to view what the pcm is commanding for current gear and tcc operation. Since it is 100% electronically controlled the transmission itself cannot create a shift and the pcm tells it what to do on all accounts..... unless the lockup valve is stuck in the valve body or the TCC solenoid is bad-clogged up from excessive debris in the fluid.

So even if it is making the whining sound it could still be electronic? It is going back to the tranny shop tomorrow where it was built and he is going to look at it and tell me what is going on? Thanks for your help

A loud whining noise can be heard if there is a problem and the pcm is commanding max line pressure, then the whining you may be hearing is the pump inside the trans as it is working at max capacity. I dont know without hearing your car but regardless your shifting complaints alone require electrical diagnostics.
