Shift Kit or Not?

New to posting on the forum, have been a reader for a while.

I have 2001 SE 3.1, so correct me if I am wrong but I have a 4T65E Trans.

I have owned the car for a while with no serious modifications, I just enjoy the car as a daily driver and using it for autocross.

I have seen a lot of disscussion on fluid flushes vs just pans drops, and shift kits to help with common trans problems. I am a little behind on changing the fluid in my trans (65k miles, 160k on car) and have had a few trans problems the entire time I have owned the vehical. I am planning on doing pan drop and was also considering a mild shift kit. My fluid looks good, no bad smell, but I do sometimes have bubbles on the dipstick. On WOT my transmission whines, and when it is hot I have hard shifts. I have read about the do's and dont's on transmission flushes as well as the arguments, so I want to stay away from a flush. I have also read that shift kits can help some transmission problems as well as a cooler. When I do this pan drop I was thinking on doing a zzp shift kit also. My question is can a mild shift kit be worse for my transmission, and if so are there any other options?

i put a shift kit in my car and it helped out quite a bit then i got a tune that upped the line pressure and now it only slips if i'm out beating on it for a while and the fluid gets really hot. Also do a filter and fluid change it won't hurt anything.
