• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

I just put my 2001 GTP back on the road. It was sitting for 2 years. Ran perfect when parked. The problem I have now is it won't accelerate without serious bucking. The gas is fresh, no check engine light or any other light is on. Runs fine at idle and low speeds. As soon as I try to go up a hill or pick up speed, it carries on like there is a bad plug or wire. Everything is brand new. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Check the plug wires and coil packs, make sure the wires aren't arcing to anything. Same with the coil packs. I like taking a test light, hook the wire to ground, and with the probe, rub it against the wires and coil packs while running. Don't pierce the wires obviously. If a spark jumps from anywhere, there's a problem.

this is so you dont mess it up

Check your fuel filter. A clogged fuel filter will restrict the fuel, and the bucking you feel during acceleration is the engine going lean.

Also check for a cracked plug while you check out the wires and coil packs. A crack in the porcelain will often cause misfires only under load.

Ive kinda had the same sitation before. Complete dead spots in the throttle. It gave the weirdest Problematic issues. Turned out to be faulty plugs that had less than 2k.

Good luck
