Shaking while Accelerating??

I'm rather new to this, but I recently purchased a 2000 Grand Prix GTP and at first on the freeway at about 60+ mph it began shaking but only while accelerating. So I rotated tires and still nothing. After a few days it started shaking even worse and starting to shake at 30+mph. I was wondering if anyone has came across this problem before and or what they did to fix it, any ideas? Thanks.

Its also really bad when im coming off the freeway and I take a right hand turn, it shakes pretty bad. that's what I was thinking though. maybe the axle where it meets the tranny.

You still have to replace the whole axle, if it lost grease or the parts inside failed, putting a new boot with grease on won't fix it.

I would also double check and make sure your motor mounts and tie rods are in good shape, you don't want any play there.

^^ this. I had the same problem but mine would do it at 30mph+ I had to replace the whole axle and tie rods.

mine does this randomly too.. is there a way to tell if the axle is bad if all the boots are connected and sealed?

mines not really randomly more like every single freakin time lol.. I feel like a little kid when ur in a car going on a bumpy road and u hum out loud :P

nope. only while coming off an exit and making a long right turn while acceleration. if I let off the gas everythings fine

The way i was told is Jack the car up and on each front wheel put your put your hands at the nine and 3 o'clock positions and try to wiggle it. If it wiggles back and forth that means your tire rod is bad.

And I took my car into the transmission shop that i usually go to and the main guy that I really like wasn't there but his mechanics where and they said its my engine mounts. they quoted me $600+ to replace them including the parts. but I passed. I then began to look at them myself and replaced the easiest one which was my the on the driver side. it took away some of the shake but I still strongly believe its the axles. I checked the tie rods and they seem fine. so hopefully this weekend I can change the axles.

sounds EXACTLY like the symptoms mine had, i replaced both axels and that took care of it. usually the boots rip and after all the grease is scattered throughout your engine bay, the car will shake upon acceleration only
