Shaking for side to side

My 2001 GT has been shaking from side to side when i get up to about 40. the tires are new and so are the springs and shocks/struts. before i start buying parts and replacing them, has anyone had this problem and what was the solution?
 


did this just start doing it when any of those parts replaced, or was it doing it before you replaced them and now it still does it after you had the new parts put on?
 
is the shaking in the wheel or more like the whole car? if the wheel is vibrating (like on the highway) it could be that the tires weren't balanced correctly....
