I know the pics are kinda bad, I was in a rush and just took as many as I could from a couple diff angles. I am waiting on my tires so I can put my rims on and then I will post some better pics.

These are the rims I am putting on

no need for duals when they arent true.

What spoiler and front lip do you got on that thing? looks very nice, same color as my 07 too............... thanks for the ideas.

You couldn't be more wrong, no Grand Prix has TRUE duals, but the separate at the end and it gives the back a much better look.

He has the SE Front Lip (Special Edition/Spring Special) that came as an option on the 06'-07' model Grand Prix's. His Spoiler is an SPO/Stage 1/GXP, they're all the same just different name's. SPO made exhaust tips, that spoiler, and a set of grills that were also an option on some GP's.

I was not planning on painting the black parts of the rim. I need some black on there too match the window tints. Dual exhaust is cool too, but if I get the SE rear would I have to cut another opening?

Once you add the SE rear extension (goes in the place of the current one) you buy a dual stock exhaust off a GT at a Junk yard, and just cut the tips off and add single ones (like my Magnaflows). I was just throwing out ideas for the rims btw.

If you don't get what I'm saying about the exhaust I can probably explain it better.

Nah you missed my point, I will rarely make a cosmetic point but fake duals do nothing for performance at all, not a thing. You have the same exact amount of gasses and pressure being split into 2 for nothing but noise and looks.

One of the major design flaws GM still uses to this day.

If it has a y pipe, it doesnt need dual outlets. The GTO is an exception, runs true duals all the way back with nothing but a crossover pipe( whatever design it may be) to equalize the pressure. Unless the one at the dealership I was under had true duals all the way back running side by side, obviously a upgrade from the f-body exhaust that they were planning to use on them in the beginning.

On a GP having a single outlet and a single pipe running all the way back, hi-flo cat and muffler will gain you more HP/TQ then a set of fake duals will.

Correction: fake duals/split exhaust will give you the EXACT same hp/tq improvements as keeping your single exhaust, basically its a cosmetic waste of money.

Yeah but I'm pretty sure with a N/A model he's going for more cosmetics than performance which is also what this thread is about so I was just throwing out an idea.

I know exactly what your saying but don't forget the Corvette too :D.

yeah the corvette was another fubar, similar to the 3rd gen f body exhaust. you basically need to spend a grand on an exhaust for those cars just to get the ground clerance too.

I forget that people think N/A cars are slow and unworthy of performance bolt ons.

Ive only had one well 2 power adder cars, one is the GT the other was a psychotic sprayed 355 SBC, 500 shot to a mainly stock bottom end, oh what fun that was when she nuked.

I get what you are saying but hell id rather have a stock 3.8 then a turbo 1.6

I understand that but wouldn't you want it too look good? Check out the back end of my car and tell me what you think for a N/A it looks mean.

I'd rather turbo my 3.8 only problem is funds lol. Plus I'm an American I like big v8's more than anything :D.

Im not saying they dont look good but every penny counts when it comes to making power and frankly, why "upgrade" something to look good yet does nothing at all for the performance of the engine but is part of the engine so to speak.

Im an old school detroit iron head kind of guy, I prefer speed to looks, hell a 66 nova that went 180 without flinching on the expressways around chicago, it had 3 shades of primer on it and 3" steel pipes out the back, sbc powered of course.

It all comes down to ones personal tastes and finances.

From the performance standpoint, i state again, why spend money to gain nothing?

Duals are sick as sick can be however, sleepers always look better and get much more respect on the street. Your from michigan, go to rock city and see how many boys are running malibu wagons out there and layin it well into the 10's.

Yours does look better due to the rear facia upgrade, that would look like **** with one pipe hanging out all by itself back there.

5.3 swap is very easy on these cars, just a few bolts.....and lots of $$$$$

Yeah, I understand what your saying whitedevil. The Dual exhuast def looks good with the SE extension Dboy.

White, its not that I would not want to add some bolt on performance mods to my car, but I don't think speed is necessary. I rarely need to even drive on the highway so the highest speed limit around here is 50 mph.

I think you may gain speed with performance mods, but if your not needing it than its also a waste of money.

I am 20 years old and presentation is key. Adding a couple appearance mods brings attention from the opposite sex. Nothing is easier than pulling up the the bank and having some chick in the drive thru saying she likes my car. Its a great conversation starter.

The only thing speed gets is some old dude in a old school car from the 70's trying to drag race you on a public street lol.

I have nothing against performance mods, but when I had to choose I choose the appearance mods, but like you said its personal preference and I respect the guys that can bring out the real power of a car with some performance mods.

ROFL!!!!

I never used any of my rides to bag some leg. Plenty of my friends tried and failed, the more they stood out the more they got less. guess having a big schwantz helps.

Youd be suprised, there are alot less people over 25 at the earliest trying to run stoplight to stoplight on the street, but if you appear to be quick atleast be able to back it up, duals= power thats all they are there for, its a mind game, always has been.

Its your ride, do what you want, but just think, some dude in a turbo Si gets next to your ride at the light, you got duals, he thinks debadged gtp or gt at the minimum, light goes green, you got that drive thru girl with you, he is long gone, and saturday night you got no date.

I am also going appearance with the 07 gp I got, why? cause I got a 3 and 4 year old, and my wife mostly drives it for her commuter, a tune and possibly a n2o injection later but for now im looking at dboys spoiler and front end as well as headlights painted and tailights light tint/paint for FLIP to do once my adoption case is over.

Ill have to surf and get some pics of the old rides, might have some posted, if not its gonna be a 35mm scan job.

Found the old car domain site I used to play with 4 years ago.
