Service Engine light question

Hey guys,

My service engine light came on over the weekend and I haven't had a chance to take it to a parts chain to hook it up to the computer.

Anyway, I noticed that since the light came on, my heat in my car hasn't been working; gets a little warm at best.

Anyone know what could be causing this?

Thanks in advance!

Heat is typically related to coolant. No coolant..no heat. However no coolant it typically not setting a light.

What does your temp gauge say?

My temp gauge has been staying towards the bottom, doesn't rise at all even when I've been driving for quite some time, like it normally does.

Or a lack of coolant.. but yeah. The code could likely be not getting up to temp.

check your coolant level first, then replace the T stat.
