• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

series 2 vs series 3

Rockers AND cam are going to need valvetrain work, example: milled guides for all the extra lift you'd be putting into it.

Keep the stock rockers, and cam it.

Or keep the stock cam, and put on rockers.

Unless you plan on really building the thing, get some upgraded valve springs and toss blahblahblah cam in it. Call it a day. Learn the 3800 magic.

what do you suggest is better, a cam, or rockers, im thinking cam and springs, get a nice mild idle going would sound mean as **** in a sunfire LOL

Don't bother spending money on rockers. Skip right to a s1x/xp cam

motor is already out. Good to break down a used motor anyways.

do the reg maintenance first like timing chain and dampener , gaskets , seals , lifters etc
get 105 springs on the heads

single roller or double roller timing chain? and im gunna do gaskets cause i know theyll be the ****ty plastic ones, and ill have to replace the timing cover gasket anyways if i cam it, if i add headers, colder plugs, 180* thermostat, and the stuff you mentioned, what pulley would you run on your supercharger, and how many psi should i see

Get a triple roller, run 20 PSI and a 2.55.

Seriously though, run the chain for the springs, the springs for the goals/cam, the pulley for the mods, the boost number is irrelevant.

Blue's safely modding thread generally covers what sort of mods go together to get you a pulley size.

Read this one a few times as well: http://www.grandprixforums.net/threads/17482-Safely-Modding-Your-3800-Powered-Car!!

The end all be all is, there is no single correct answer, and you will never know until you try it.

so a 2.55 pulley with a triple roller, and cam, headers, springs, cold plus, tune, and i dont need an ic or anything? lol

That would be sarcasm bro.. There's no triple roller (double roller) and your not going to be able to just slap on a 2.55 and expect it to be knock free without a cam/IC and or e85

Reads Blue thread again several times.

lol i posted that before reading and i didnt think id be able to go that low, maybe a 3.2-3.4 if i was lucky.
