so im trying to pull my motor and i have everything ready to go. i took the 5 bolts off of the trans, and the three bolts off of the flex plate and it will only separate a half inch to a inch. are there dowls on the bottom of the trans or something cause it lifts the whole car if i start to lift it.

Did you remove the ***** bolt? There is a bolt that is fed on the backside under the rear exhaust manifold. You cant see it but you can feel it if you stick you hand behind there,

If it's separating at all then he must have gotten the backwards bolt. Get a pry bar in there and pop it off the two dowels

Take off the bracket/mount on the passenger side of the trans? Either that or tap on the tc a few times while separating it

no no no....

there is a bolt, that is facing the other way through the motor, into the transmission. IE, it goes through the motor, and threads into the tranny. It takes about 3feet worth of extensions to reach.

If that bolt is out, the you just need to start lifting the motor up, and take a pry bar, and keep prying it loose. Make sure you have something else to wedge in there, like a big screwdriver or something. Eventually it will let loose, and you'll be good to go.

Yeah, that's because you dont have the engine completely seperated from the tranny. Either that PITA bolt is still on, or the alignment dowels are still holding.

Orrr...theres a bottom motor mount gettin in the way. Make sure that is unbolted too.

well i got the 4 bolts on the drivers side and the one from the passenger side. the nuts are off of the motor mount. the 3 bolts are off of the flywheel. is that all right? there are only 2 dowels right?

Right behind the power steering pump there are 2 13mm bolts that connect the trans bracket to the engine you need to pull those.
