Sensitive alarm?

Is anyone else's alarm really sensetive? I pulled my balt out of the garage today and the exahust note at IDLE set it off, which isn't loud at all. Then me and my friends were laughing about it, so I tried to lock the car without setting off the alarm, where I only pushed the lock button once, then said, "I bet if I kick it it will go off." Then I BARELY kicked the front bumper jokingly and it went off. :th_laugh-lol3:

Is anyone else's alarm like this? Is there any way else to fix it?
 


if its a aftermarket alarm should be a clear box with 2 adjusters on it turn 1/4 on each and test ... after you arm alarm count to 10 slowly , and test
 
I also have an overly sensitive alarm. Mine is the stock alarm that came with the 2000 GTP, and when its out in the parking lot at work it often goes off if a trailer truck goes by, or a loud exhaust. I've set it off with my monte's exhaust too. It's pretty stupid how sensitive this thing is.

My work-around has been to lock the car once with the button, then press unlock once to unlock only the driver door, then manually lock the driver door and close it. This keeps the car locked without engaging the alarm.

If there is a way to adjust the stock alarm sensitivity, please share this knowledge! Thanks guys.
 
The shock sensor is located up in the dash by the steering column (might even be attached to the column, been a while since I messed with it), it's a black box with a white adjuster knob on it. You can get to it by pulling the panel under the column. Either dial down the sensitivity or just unplug it if you don't want it at all.
