selling things online

As long as you have proof you did not ship it in that condition, then I personally feel it would be on the buyer for not wanting to purchase insurance.

besides that ...it looks like someone beat on it with something ...that damage couldnt have happened from shipping...unless the ups man repeatedly dropped it in one spot.and i dont see that happening.Im thinking he didnt do reasearch before he bought it and it didnt fit truck...and is hoping this gets his money back somehow.

are you sure its the same hood??? maybe he has a another hood that hes trying to swap out with yours on the low low..

great reason why you need to document these things tho

whatever hes doing...Im pretty sure im covered. He denied any insurance. We went through paypal so im pretty sure hes gonna file a dispute on me.I KNOW that hood didnt look like that when it got left at ups.My neighbor helped me pack and took me to drop off hood at ups and will write a full statement if need be..I was just curious if anyone has ever experienced this before.Ive only sold a few items online and this is the first problem i have ever had.

You got pics, witness and he didn't get insurance. I just bought a hood of my own from a company and I got the insurance. You never know what will happen.

Thanks guys...I just wanted a second opinion. His emails have calmed down now.He was gettin kinda sh!tty for a minute, but i broke it down like it is.Its not my problem anymore.I agree u will never know whats gonna happen...i would never buy anything over a certain value w/o insurance online.

UPS will probably claim that it was improperly packaged and you might get screwed. This happened to me also, except with a SLP gen 1 spoiler, and UPS denied my claim and screwed me over big time, those ****ers. From what I've read UPS will at all costs try and deny every claim filed as improper packaging, even some that were package by UPS staff (well until they found out of course). Hopefully for your sake the buyer won't be a dick about and file a dispute cause you will probably lose regardless of him denying the insurance. At least in my case I was man enough to take the hit myself instead of making the guy I bought the spoiler from pay up. All I have to say is **** UPS, I hate those mother****ers with a passion. That is all.

If it was improperly packaged why would they accept it in that packaging? And theres really nothing for him to claim. He didnt want insurance and have proof of that in a Email.Nevertheless, im not eating this one!

That's the whole reason I hate UPS. They will accept pretty much any package and if something happens to it they will say it was improperly packaged regardless of how well it was packaged. They are evil, very evil.

lol yea ... i cant say it was UPS' fault though...how do i kno he didnt do it?
All i do "know" is that it wasnt in that condition when i shipped it.

You might try to file a claim through UPS just to see how it goes. They say it's the shipper's responsibility to file the claim. Best you can do I guess.

Insurance = win win either way you look at it, sometimes you just can't afford not to put it on. I always insure my stuff that I ship out, and FedEx has never let me down...even when they had to shell out $500 for a supercharger that they damaged.
