• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Seeing my brother off...

I will keep your brother in my prayers, best of luck to him and to all who are serving over there.

IDK how it was for Marine MP's, but Army MP's see just as much combat as Infantry does. They called us "Mounted Infantry" because we were the ones who handled convoy operations and security, we had ASV's and up-armored HMMWV's, and we had more firepower than even the Infantry had. We were the ones who led the convoys and provided security for humanitarian missions, escorted the supply and transportation guys through rough areas, etc.

ya i was gunna say, i had a close friend as an mp in the guard. his unit deployed to iraq back in 06-07 and they did alot of the same things you were talking about. they're job is no joking matter. and i agree 100% with what you guys have said about becoming very close with your comrades. i still talk to guys i was in basic training with and that was about 7 yrs ago, and especially some guys i was deployed with. good luck to all of you who are or who have deploying family. stay in contact with them everyday if you can via social networks, email, care packages, or good ol fashioned letter by mail. and ladies, stay by your men no matter how hard it is and vice versa. the significant others make the time go by and keep our minds at ease and able to go day to day, without you, we are already dead. blunt and truthful

I wish your bro nothing but the best, and ill keep him/your family in my prayers.

Thank him for serving our country :salute:

I do appreciate everyone's prayers and well wishes. I have already posted I will be headed that way soon. Please be careful about posting where someone is and what unit they are with on an open forum. There is OPSEC to think about and that person's well being over there.

yeah opsec is deffently something you have to be careful of. but if you keep it general its not a problem.... like for example, im with L Troop of the 2d Cavalry Regiment, and i am currently in Kandahar City.... nothing more than you could proably find on google.

I've never had to see a loved one off, but I'm sure it's very hard. Just try and stay positive. I'll keep your brother, as well as you and the rest of your family in my prayers.

Exactly, and at his request I'm not going to mention more then his first name.

Thanks everyone, for your prayers and support. We both, really appreciate it.
