sedan or coupe?

mexico

New member
ok so I really love my gt sedan. but I am interested in a coupe if possible. heres the downlow: this car has a junkyard engine with what the junkyard says has 90000miles on it. Right now I only have 2000 saved but my parents want me to sell my car and think I can get 3000. I would prefer to save my money until I can get a nice white gt or gtp coupe.that would allow me to swap my white rims that I love so much to the coupe and sell the sedan and would not go without a car for any long time. I am really particular on the color and I guess I could settle with black, but I really prefer white.

Do yall think I should
1.keep this car, supercharge it and hope for the best(I also have to buy a new sway bar and rear trailing arm for it)
2. wait and save for a white coupe with original motor
3.sell this car and hope I get enough to get a coupe, and hope someone is selling one?

question: does the extra weight of two doors make any difference?

IIRC the weight difference between the coupe and sedan are very minimal.
as for a SALVAGE YARD motor, nothing wrong with that.

Real cars have 2 doors..:D.i have both and the sedan seems so tiny in the front, feels like im right on top of the dash. The B-pillar on the sedan sucks for trying to see stuff on the sides
The weight of the sedan is about a 80-100lbs. Not to mention the added weight is in a ****ty part of the car for FWD. with 4 doors you have more little things to go bad...ie switchs, window motors.

I would buy a shell from Ed morad that has the features you want for cheap and get a motor from him or the J-yard. From all the money you will save from doing this will allow you to have extra cash for performance parts or apperance mods.

I think it all comes down to how attached you are to the car. Weight isn't really an issue, the speed difference is so minimal i wouldn't even consider that in the equation.. If you're really attached to it, keep it, fix it up, supercharge it, whatever. If not, looks like you have around $5,000 to spend on a car and maybe a little more if you wait and save a little longer. That's enough to buy you a good gtp coupe. Sounds like your kind of attached to it which i understand as my 99 four door GT is my first car and while i really don't wanna get rid of it, I'd really like to have a 2 door GTP.

In the end, i think it's just a personal preference on what car you want.

sell it. and get a white 2 door gtp! then your boosted, and its a coupe!

TRUE THAT ITS SETTLED NOW A GTP COUPE IS U lol..... i have the sedan because i like the sleeper look and because its all i could afford at the dealership "was a jeep dealer btw" lol :th_crossbones1:

I also have both. My sedan is a GTP, Which is nice blowing imports of the road with a four door, and my GT is the coupe. Kinda wish it was the other way around, but like GTPJOE90 said, the sedan makes a awsome sleeper. As long as it's a GTP, you can't go wrong. And white is the right choice, that was my choice of color.

Yea, I definetely like the sleeper sedan but I am looking for a more practical kind of thing. I dont really need 4 doors anymore. Also I am very interested in autocross. I figure for autocross the lighter and smaller the better right? And I dont really want to do all the work involved in supercharging this car. I would rather get the gtp and do light mods. But I think I am going to wait and see how much money I have at the end of summer and then decide. More opinions though, please.
