Security Light Flashing

I have a 2000 Grand Prix. Had problems with the car starting and dying, so I replaced the Theft Deterrent Module. Did the 30 minute re-learn and everything works. The car stays running, the alarm works like it should, but when I start the car, the security light flashes for 10 minutes then goes out. I have done the 30 minute re-learn 5 times with no change. Can someone please tell me how to get the security light to stop flashing? I'm a little afraid to drive the car because I don't know what the issue is. NOTE: When I installed the new theft deterrent module, the car started and stayed running before I did the re-learn. Is that right?
