Seat Adjustment stuck

In my 05 Grand Prix GT, the front up and down adjustment on my power seats seems to be stuck. I can kind of see under the seat, and when I hit the "button" up or down, the little shaft that rotates normally (from what I observed on the rear adjustment) is stuck and kinda just wrenches the thing securing it around a bit.

I honestly have no clue how these seats work so I'm not sure where I should start. Clearly the motor works, so something is stuck or broken and in a bad place.

Bump.

Do these "motors" have threadings in them? If so maybe the threading is effed and I should just start looking in a junkyard. I already have to as my control panel in charge of the blowers and heat and ac has several burnt out lights and occasionally causes my blowers to cut off completely for like, .5 seconds. The AC also appear to not work, but I haven't checked the pressure on that yet...

Bump, I've tried "helping" the seat while using the motor too, maybe it's time for all new seats with heating coils so I can get some heated seats in here :D

I actually have the same problem with my seat. It wont move up or down. Im just gonna replace the whole seat b/c i've tried manually turning the little rod and i've tried bouncing while holding the button and nothing works.

I had the same problem with my 06 I pulled the seat out and hooked the power back up to it while it was laying sideways in the car and I managed to get it working. Dont remember what I did to it. Just take the seat out and check it out it is only 2 bolts in the back and the front has J hooks got to slide the hole seat back and lift out.

I'm having the SAME problem as the OP with my 05 except with the rear motor. Motor goes whirrrrr but the shaft doesn't turn. Mines under warranty, just don't want to lose the car for a week.

izup69, good call, hopefully it isn't too cold this weekend, if not I'll pull the seat out and fiddle with it in my driveway. There's gotta be something that's either jammed or not secured properly/got loosened as the motor is obviously fine.
