seafoaming question

after countless hours of reading, i'm just going to ask.

this is the how-to i'm going off of, and was wondering if it's accurate;

now i know what i need, and where everything goes, for the most part. my main concern is what vacuum line to use. in the link above, they said to use this connection

correct, or no? 50% of the sh*t ive read they say "dont use it, itll mess up the rotors." and the other 50% says "go for it chuck"

so which one is it?

and should i really put seafoam in the crankcase like the picture below?

gracias.

There's never been any agreement on this, I don't know anyone that can say for sure. Just use the port under the snout, no worries that way (well, less worries as some could still go back through the BBV and through the rotors).

i would refrain from putting it in the crankcase unless you're going to do an oil change and gaskets within 100 miles or so. sludge buildup helps prevent leaks, and if you remove the buildup, you might spring a leak.

as far as which line to use, i'd just use the brake booster.

like what was said in the chat box, if you put in the brake booster, i think most of that should slip under the rotors and go into the intake. only other way to bypass the rotors is the port under the supercharger snout, connected to the LIM.

I dont get all crazy puttin sea foam into my crankcase or vacuum lines for that matter heard to many stories of messin crap up and the whole idea of pouring it in until the engine stops and then let it sit and then restart just doesnt sound good to me at all. I will stick to running it through my tank.

so go for the gold and seafoam from the middle vac like in the picture above? or just go thru the brake booster?

crankcase should be fine, i got the faith. and the tank is a cake walk. it's the vac lines i'm not to sure about.

Get a 10mm socket out and take theat vacuum tree off and tell me what you see. One hole.... They all go to the same spot.

so either one works, cool.

now what if i took the belt off the blower while i add the seafoam thru one of the vac lines? would that be more safe than with the belt on since the blower rotors wont be spinning?

Just dump it in the line. It does not remove the coating. I spray water alky injection threw my blower and it is fine.

Don't listen to this guy...he forged Lake Placid...and that is what did his enigne in, not the seafoam...that or he left it in his engine too long and thinned out the oil and spun bearings.

Seafoam is a great product and I use it in all my cars...even the GTP.
