SD Hood fitment

I would keep your speed down until you find a solution. I'm sure you don't want your hood to fly up while driving.
 


they have flush mount pins so u dont have a pole sticking up. but you gotta drill a bigger hole. hood moves because its fiberglass, each time it moves your stressing where the latch it. one day BOOM
 
I have the CF SD and it wobbles like a mofo on the freeway. No fricks given. Its like a 5lb hood, I cant expect it to sit there like stock. Also hood pins are gay and ive been running CF SD hoods for like 4-5 years without losing one. Ive even driven away without the hood latched on the freeway a few times... that was kinda close tbh...
 
The only hoods that had problems that I recall was the Duraflex WS6 hood and it was known for several broken windshields. Poorly built in bulk it was all over the boards with broken latches, hinge points, saw one that broke in half in the middle and the scoops came off and tore up the top of the car.

Most of the others I know could be problematic being mostly if not all fiberglass, and too much shaking could break the latch mount, but odd are if you just firm up the bushings &/or adjust the hood latch so its tighter there wouldn't be a problem.

This is not true, not all fiberglass hoods do. Most yea but not all and its usually the WS6 style hood that flys up, the GTX, SD, and F1 hood are all pretty good
 
I'm thinking about squeezing a block or rubber of some sort under the hood hinges so it will stop bouncing, driving around town and hearing the hood bounce aroun is more annoying than it shaking on the highway...

on the rad suppoert is a rubber bumper on each side, they have threads on them you need to turn your up a turn or 2 on each side.

if you shut the hood then push down, ( where the bumper is) you can tell if its on the bumper yet.

Did you ever get around to adjusting the rubber bumpers? They are what fixes this problem. By the look of the hood alignment in the picture of Post 1 your hood is too low anyways.

Look for these, rotate them so they come up a little bit and then push down on the hood, if it bounces any, pop it and rotate a little more, repeat until the hood doesn't bounce.
 
Why the heck are those? My bumpers are like square and have a hole in the middle, the ones by the hinges were junk so I trashed those and put the other ones up top but now they are back down, where are those located exactly??
 


Nvm that question, I found them haha but It bounces at the top near the window too where the hinges are at
 
Hrmmm... that would be a different problem. It shouldn't be bouncing up there... unless something is loose or broken.

Not on these cars they don't. If the hood is fitted properly and the latch holds the hood down tight and secure you'll be fine. And I would know. I had an SD & GTX hood on my GTP. Nvr had issues.
 
It's the hinge, it's like the bolt that went through the hole to bolt the hinge to the car is too small and the bolt bounces around in the hole and makes the noise and I tried tightening it but the angle is so had, I would have to take of the bottom of the windshield cover to get a good angle...

Some do yes, for instance my brothers gtx hood is splitting at the seam between the upper and lower portion of the front of the hood so that thing will be fluttering a little on the highway every now and then (even had it fly up a couple of inches on a top speed run, only hit 115 before it happened :( ).

Honestly if you notice cracks in the front of the hood I would get either hood pins or that bra that goes on the leading edge of the hood.
