Scariest driving moment of my life....Added image of new hood!

That latch doesn't work well if you don't close your hood and then drive off. This was a 100% my rookie mistake. Let the crap flinging begin :P

im just saying, cops drive around in the summer hood popped, i drove at highway speeds with a plow on the front of my truck and the hood popped, and the wind over the plow used to make it bounce, it never flipped up on me. ( i did this a lot too) the truck ran cooler on the highway hood popped.

How to close a hood: Invert car, smash on ground.

The laugh is what got me in that video^

The safety latch will hold until you get going fast enough. It must have just had enough wind to rip it off, or the srping was worn out and was letting it bounce around. Either way, glad to hear you were ok, and your car too, that isn't nearly as bad as some of the cars I've seen.

People always wonder why i drop/slam my hood down when I close it. Hell, the hood bumpers are there for a reason, you won't damage anything unless you're really trying to.

back when I was 18 driving a 02 grand am my hood latch broke, hood smashed windshield I panic and smashed into the guard rail at 75mph... bye bye grand am
