The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.
Just a scanner, AutoTap or any of those with GM enhanced parameters will do you just fine. PowerTuner has a scanner built into it but in my opinion (flame suit on) I think the whole interface to the PowerTuner is clunky and sorta difficult to navigate. It takes some getting used to. So if you wanted to knock out a tuner with a scanner and dont mind getting used to the interface, then PowerTuner may be an option.
I dont own one, so I cant speak first hand about HP Tuner. Ive seen the interface on it and I like it a whole lot better, but you'll have to do your own comparison and draw your own conclusions.
For just pure scanners, there are a wide selection out there. Some even have built in dyno's that can measure 0-60 times, 1/4 mile times, and other such measurements. Are they a substitute for the track? No, but they do get you in the ball park. I have used them before and my experience is that they tend to be within a couple tents of any time slip which would put it in the margin of error given different weather conditions, driving and so forth.
AutoTap seems to be the most popular for the Grand Prix, but there are others out there that you may want to look into and compare.
Nope, just a scanner with GM enhanced parameters. Get a scanner with that and you'll be able to see KR along with a whole lotta other things.
Now, I forgot also about the LS1 Scanner I believe it is that runs on a palm pilot and has some enhanced stuff including KR. So that may be a bit cheaper option if you can find one. I know the Aeroforce gauges have a scan tool build in but Im not sure if its does KR or not and it would require mounting in an A-Pillar gauge pod.
Several options out there, just kinda have to weigh them all and what would work best for you.
you know i have a friend that works for this company and told me about his gauges and 1 is also a scanner . the website is : plxdevices.com . they dont look bad . i told him to get me 1 or 2 for free and let me try them out .
