do the gt and the gtp have the same block. im finding alot of gt's for sale cheap and i need a new block for my gtp. can i use the engine out of the gt and have everything fit like it should?

you could use the gt shortblock, its gonna be higher compression, thats what i have. you can find alot of those engines in good shape because they didnt have the s/c. just swap the heads, lower intake and supercharger and other stuff related to the m90.

okay, ill let you think they are stronger. no knock and not spinning to 6500+ RPM = not broken motor. ;)

Minus the rods :p

04 L26s had L36 rods. Watch what you buy. ;)

And yes the higher compression rules. I always thought the L67 was a pig off the line and in general around town out of boost. I figured it had something to do with the intake design or something. No, it's the lower compression. My car feels like a beast down low and then boost sets in and it really takes off.

i know what you mean. it felt better when i was running N/A just driving normally. when i get into boost though this thing flies. i cant wait to have both.

anyone bored their block .020 over? is it worth it to have it done or should i just ust 9.5:1 pistons with the supercharger?

I'm .020" over, but only because I had to if I wanted to reuse my old block. I had a bit of a wear spot on one of my cylinder walls. I'm just finishing the break-in, but so far it is excellent! Going .020" over increased the displacement ever so slightly.

For the money, it's probably not worth going over. The higher compression is definitely awesome, however!

the blocks are too plentiful IMO to bore them over. I went to the yard and had no problem finding a block in good condition. Even with 100k on them, if taken normal care of the L36 blocks have slight to no wear... i was even able to re use the pistion rings!!!

Find someone in your area with a DHP Powertuner or a HP Tuners program that can custom tune it. Blows mail-order tunes out of the water.
