RUST

So I have a 99 gtp that has become a rust bucket. What's the best thing to do at this point? Is there anyway I can get some money or something?

you can buy replacement rockers and have them replaced. under fuel door is a little more in depth tho...

So if I do drive the car into the ground (which seems like I have to since I don't have the money for another car at this time) should I then just pick the parts that I can and send it to the scrap yard?

Sounds like the thing to do to me.

Pics would deff help.

You can spend very little money and make the car look decent until the hidden rust becomes so bad it has to go.

If you're from the rust belt then you're in about average shape. I don't see any reason to scrap the car though. You could coat what's left of the rockers with por or chassis saver to stop it from getting worse.

That's a little worse shape than my car is in. My plan is eventually find a rust free GP and swap all my parts over to it. Basically gut it and save the engine and trans too. Send the shell and w/e else is left to the scrap yard.

Thanks. I will certainly look into this.

Your not in too bad of shape there. Mine's about the same. I'm planning on putting por15 on it. It's not even close to how bad it could be. My 98 GTP the entire rockers where rotted off so badly that the side skirts fell off and the struts where about to pop thru the towers.

I'm in the same boat, plus my car is high mileage, so I'm putting minimal amount of money into it and drive it until something major fails.

Fortunately, I moved down South, so I can buy a low-rust car down here.
