Rust

Does wax really work on non clear coated surfaces? I don't think it sticks well on just paint or metal. Spend $15 and an afternoon undercoating it if you have somewhere warm to do so.

I've heard undercoating can make things worse in some cases. With the logic that if the undercoating cracks in any one spot, the salt water gets in there.. and then instead of evaporating and getting washed away, the undercoating holds it in and keeps it there which rots the metal away even worse.

Have you ever seen that? I've had a few people at work tell me that.
 


No I never heard that, but as my car was there was already paint cracked and water getting in between it and the metal. The undercoating is rubberized and mine hasn't cracked at all, I will check up on it once in a while though. Just do a god job prepping it and it should stay just fine.
