RUST!

So Ive had my car for exactly a year now and when I got it last year it had 56k on it and had literally been garage stored since they day the original owner bought it and it was in flawless shape. But I was unable to keep my car inside most of the winter and had to drive it almost everyday so as a result my car took the beating of its life most of the stuff is nothing a real good cleaning and polishing won't fix, But as a started this extensive cleaning process yesterday when I took 2 of the wheels off to clean them real good "all do the other 2 tomorrow" I noticed that the underside of my car is nothing but rust in most places the same places that had all the original paint only a few months ago I'm talking about mostly suspension stuff not the body and I swear one of the ends on my drivers side control arm looks extremely thin but that probably just the way it was made cause everything Ive found is surface rust.

So my question is Wtf should I do to get rid of all this ugly stuff? and the vents on my front rotors are covered in ugly rust and they were bran new when I got the car I feel like they shouldnt look that bad after 11k miles but Im thinking of just replacing them with some 04-08 12 ins ones so what could a do to keep new rotors looking good?

What car is this?

For the under body you might have to sand the rust away and get down to the metal then have what you can rhino lined or use that sticky under body stuff. For the rotors, its just brakes, rust happens. They don't coat rotors in anything from the manufacturer because that little bit of rust won't hurt them.

Um, rotors rust, and fast. No way around it. Who cares if the vents are rusting? I suppose you could powdercoat them. Never really worried about them though on any car I've owned and have never had a rotor failure related to rusting fins.

Could POR-15 the whole underside. That would stop/prevent rust for sure.

Or do what I did and get another car for the winter and park the Prix :th_thumbsup-wink:

POR-15 is the winningest rust killer of a product you can find easily.
On the rotor vents.. I put rotors on in May and they have zero rust. This is the first rotor I've put on w/o seeing rust on the vents in a couple of weeks. That's because most rotors have no coating on them and they rust when the oil comes off.

R1 Concepts Eline rotors are on there currently and I like the lack of rust. Supposedly these are Centric blanks.

when I say the bottom of the car I mean like the control arms struts..etc, everyrthing else under there is coated with the rubber crap, and the thing about the rotors is they just look ugly with all that crap on them Im wanting to do some type of 12 inch upgrade this weekend if I can find the parts
