Rust Bucket '98 GTP - Stiegemeier GenV/E85 - Video on pg. 5

Re: My rust bucket project '98 GTP - Stiegemeier GenV and corn things

First thing that came to mind when you said "[h=2]Stiegemeier"[/h]

Re: My rust bucket project '98 GTP - Stiegemeier GenV and corn things

So here is how it sits today...

The original GenIII setup:

The new Steig'y GenV...

And don't mind the PCV or EVAP routing. That's fixed and correct.

Re: My rust bucket project '98 GTP - Stiegemeier GenV and corn things

Damn... That's an impressive port job... No idea how you scored one of those blowers

Re: My rust bucket project '98 GTP - Stiegemeier GenV and corn things

you know plenty of people on here that can port a blower, i'd hope.

Re: My rust bucket project '98 GTP - Stiegemeier GenV and corn things

Yes I do. He reminds me everytime I don't list prices or my location

no one ever showed me solid proof of a gain , sound or performance wise. The steig blower I would hope was tested on thier bench dyno and should be better then a stock gen5

Re: My rust bucket project '98 GTP - Stiegemeier GenV and corn things

It was ran on a blower dyno if I remember right...as they do all of their builds. I'd have to ask the PO if he has any results.

I can tell you for sure it is much louder, and I'll get a video. It didn't like that 3.2" much...so for right now till we get the downpipe on and the new fuel filter and FPR..So far it has a stock pulley, U-Bend delete, 160*, 42's, the GenV, and an open cone. It also had a half an half tank of gas and corn, so once I clean all that out I'm sure it'll at least let me go down to a 3.4" just fine.

Damn... That's awesome man. Give me a heads up if you wanna ditch that blower ;)

Re: My rust bucket project '98 GTP - Stiegemeier GenV and corn things

Steig, knows his Eatons, he used to do a lot of work for the Ford crowd and had pretty solid gains 10-15HP on a lot of them. He basically does the same as the MP? line from Eaton which is what a lot of us that ported blowers did as well and could pick up some pretty good gains as well. It's hard to get numbers because it usually wasn't just the blower that was changed. The Magnum Powers (different manufacturer) blower, one guy got a 70 HP gain just from the blower. It's a different blower casting altogether though.

Re: My rust bucket project '98 GTP - Stiegemeier GenV and corn things

i could probably replicate that port shape pretty easy, but all of the blending done seems like a total waste of time.

Re: My rust bucket project '98 GTP - Stiegemeier GenV and corn things

I guess it was his snout oil cooler and bearing kits that made me skeptical at first. But looking at the blower now, it's quite impressive

Re: My rust bucket project '98 GTP - Stiegemeier GenV and corn things

The port shape is easy with a mill I did several for the guys back then. Did some clean up jobs too from guys that did it freehand but weren't very good with a die grinder.

So let me get this straight, the Steig. Gen V you have is basically a fancy ported Gen V?

Inlet and outlet? Anything else done to the blower?

Inlet, outlet.

TB to match.

That raindrop style was tested to be the best flow according to them with these blowers. It was totally rebuild and had the snout machined. Rotors aren't hollowed out and no cooler...so it's just loud. But I can for sure tell a huge difference over the on the edge tune it was running with the stock pulley/GenIII/pump gas...to the corn/GenV/stock pulley.

Re: My rust bucket project '98 GTP - Stiegemeier GenV and corn things

With a set of wheels and tires and both of us in the car, this thing blows the doors off of a Stock GTP....not saying much, but still.
Even in 100* weather it runs pretty good.

Re: My rust bucket project '98 GTP - Stiegemeier GenV and corn things

And we even gave that guy the hit.

Left hand on top of the wheel douche driver mode to boot. Got up to about 90~ and had more than a car and pulling. Was funny.
