pretty sure stock l36's knock from factory, mine did. a downpipe and a tune cleared it up. thought i was done modding after that but a mod here a mod there.....just got out of control lol

Yeah knock still there, aswell as going from drive to reverse like pop/clunk next oil change I'll try to figure it out. But holy crap it feels like a different car. The car now shifts smooth, before every shift would shake the whole car as it went into gear. And it all around feels like it drives better, maybe its placebo. Also tightened sway bar links seems to have took out some of that rattle out.

I had the clunk when going from drive to reverse, lower engine mount cured that.. weird it didnt fix yours, and you got new dog bone mounts, what about the bushings after the dogbones?
I think I read somewhere about subframe clunking around can cause it.. could be wrong though

Poly rounds, squares are filled, I'll check subframe next but it makes no ill sounds while hard cornering as if its shifting or something.

You can't feel it in the steering wheel correct? Our impala has the noisy column issue as well as some other noise

Okay so, it only clunks when im stopped and go from drive to reverse to drive to reverse then it clunks between those gears. So when i pull up in my driveway to back around and i throw it in reverse after pulling up and it wont clunk, same when i back into my parking spot at work. Wont clunk. I inspected without going under slightly didnt see the sway bar broken nor looked like it was hitting anything will go under next week when i changed my oil and have my grandpa cycle the gears maybe i can pinpoint the issue. I tightened the subframe to 130ft/lbs, 2/4 bolts tightened a little more. I also threw my socket on the mounts and retightned them up some after driving as they took some more turns to snug up good. Also inspected the water pump and no leaks there.

Wait I used to have a clunk on the right side when I went from reverse to drive. Ended up being the passenger cv axle

It really sounds like CV like when you slide them in and out but they aren't giving me issues driveability wise and they are fully seated, this one sounds more from the driver side. I'll know next week when I change my oil and check it over.

Found the bolts weren't tight enough on the dogbones where they meet the engine bracket. That was causing a noise. (Impala) I tightened them with the air ratchet til it stopped. Not enough apparently. Now to look into the steering column.

Plasti dip was a bust, it turned out a lot more faded looking that I thought so i peeled it off. Tomorrow I'll work on por15ing rust.

I think if the color was deeper and not faded looking it would look good. A gloss burt orange type color would look good I think but matte, nerp. If you lived near me you can have the 2 cans I have left.
