• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Running on full boost!!! AAAHH!!!

a 2007 ECM is untunable and wouldn't work with your combination.

It wouldn't know what to do with your injectors, have the wrong cal for your MAF, would want to see a TAC instead of an IAC/TPS.

It'd either command too much timing and run too lean OR transmission wouldnt know when to shift.

So, are you sure?

Absaposilutely sure. Its a MORAD engine setup - something done long before my time . . .I have just been working on fixing it.
First it was a busted valve spring that I went through hell and high water to diagnose and fix.

But yeah I confirmed with the previous owners that it was a MORAD engine with an 07 ECM/TCM and 07 Trans.
Happiness galore over here - luckily one of my trusted mechanic friends is enroute.

I took off the bypass valve and played with it to make sure it was working, I took off the bypass valve cover thingy that sits on top of the supercharger (has 3 vacuum line connectors on it - one going to the brake boost) to see if there was something amiss.. . but its not clogged, has a little carbon buildup but not clogged. I then (gratuitous / unintended innuendos not intended) made sure there was suction with the vacuum lines - so there is nothing obstruction movement of air...

FML. . . I am running out of ideas. and my cat keeps getting in front of the computer and I have no idea what I am typing

What I'm saying about the PCM is is if it truly is from a 2007, it will not run in a 2001.

How many connectors does it have on it? Two or three? If two, its from a 1997-2003 car. If three, its from a 2004+ vehicle.

As I said, the vehicle cannot run with a 2007 PCM unless overkill tuned it, which he only just started doing in the past couple months.

so when the engines running the little black section of the valve doesnt go up?

If yes, its fine.

If no, disconnect the lower vacuum line on the BBV actuator that goes to the BBV solenoid. Does it go up then?

If yes, the BBV solenoid is bad. If no, the BBV actuator is bad OR you have a bad enough vacuum leak that there isn't enough vacuum to open the BBV actuator. You'd have to check that with a vacuum guage or a scan tool that can read live data. IIRC, around 10-12 in Hg is required to open the BBV actuator.
