• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

RTV in cold (10 degrees) weather

Will rtv cure properly when it’s super cold out? My garage isn’t heated and it’s going to under 20 degrees out all next week. I’ve got a coolant leak either from the lim gaskets not having enough on the corners or from the coolant plugs in the lim that I tapped a little too wide.

I use gray rtv instead of a supercharger gasket because I always get a vac leak no matter what gasket I use so I stopped using them.

I know the ultra blue cures in below 0 temps. I imagine most will, it will just take longer to cure. Pointing a space heater at it would help a ton if you have one.

I’ve used Copper rtv instead of a blower gasket on IC builds. I’d think it will set up fine if left long enough.

The description of all the RTV’s is a little different but I’ve never noticed much of a different between them.

I never use supercharger gaskets (plenum gaskets)

RTV may not cure till you start the car and get some heat.
